Video of 84 Litchfield Road, Edgartown, Massachusetts (Martha's Vineyard)

http://www.SandpiperRealty.com - Welcome to Oak Peak, a true oasis nestled among the oaks on over 3 acres of land. Architect designed and crafted with the finest materials and highest level of workmanship, these home offers a quiet and warm environment that entrances, calms, and intrigues while offering comfort that flows from the carefully thought out design and exquisite surroundings. Perfectly situated, it's a little over a mile to Quammox Preserve and direct access to Katama Bay.

An elegant staircase crafted of Angelique leads to a loft area above the living space.

An open, L-shaped plan provides a large living and dining room with 16' ceilings as well as the kitchen area with adjacent breakfast spot.  In order to maintain, to the greatest degree possible, a natural, chemical free, non-allergenic environment, natural tropical hardwoods were used in many areas because of their beauty, warmth and functionality.  Three species of tropical hardwoods are used in this home:  Yellow Heart in the living and sleeping area floor finish, Wana for the pool decking, and Angelique for the cabinetry, stairs and detail trim finishing.  All were imported in raw form from Surinam and shipped directly by small freighter.  All final kiln drying, curing and milling was done on site, each piece of wood specifically hand prepared for installation by two full time on site cabinet makers who lived on the property for many months during the interior finishing process.

A sitting room or den is located off the entry hall, adjacent to main living area (that can readily double for overflow sleeping as there is a full bathroom across the hall).

The main living areas are connected to the sleeping wing of the house by the pool link which is initially accessed from the main entry.

The gracious stairs descend to the pool area with a rock waterfall - functional in the pool filtration system as well as aesthetically pleasing. The gunite lap pool has been designed to function without chemicals of any kind and has systems installed to make certain that there is neither excess moisture nor odor from the pool.

The pool deck is constructed of Wana and provides for a very pleasant and nearly zen like sitting area adjacent to the pool looking through french doors to the outside.

The master bedroom opens directly onto the pool deck and is exceptional in proportions with a 14' angled ceiling and circular skylight , which from the bed encourages star gazing.  The incredible walkout master bath that features an indoor/outdoor soaking tub. The master also has french doors accessing a private patio. The sleeping wing also includes a second bedroom and bath as well as the laundry accessed by a separate exterior entrance so it's handy from the beach.

Two separate cottages mimic and complement the main dwelling in architectural design. The two are adjacent to one another and connected by fir decking. One cottage offers a bath and outdoor shower so the two can function separately as bedrooms or together as one living unit. The total square feet of the two cottages is 400 sq feet so a future guest house is still able to be constructed on the lot if desired.
